“That’s What Happens When You Try Us” is an interactive game with what might be the most terrible user interface in all of history. The game asks players to try and figure out how they can navigate different screens by clicking on various objects, using their mouse or tapping on touch devices. So far so bad, but things quickly take a turn for the worse when it says “you’ll never know unless you play!”

The “broncos offensive line” is a team that has had an up and down season. They have been trying to find their identity in the NFL, but they haven’t found it yet.

Mike McCarthy wants his Dallas Cowboys’ winning streak to continue. McCarthy was wanting to make a statement after riding a six-game winning run and being regarded as one of the best teams in the NFC.

The head coach had a few things working for him in his second season with the Cowboys. Dak Prescott, the Cowboys’ quarterback, had returned from injury and led one of the league’s finest offenses. The Cowboys were also playing the poor Denver Broncos in front of their home fans.

So, early in the game, McCarthy opted to pull out a couple fourth-down play calls from his back pocket. I mean, why not?

The Cowboys failed on both attempts and created a monster in the process.

The Dallas Cowboys went 0-4 on fourth down under Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy elected to go for it on 4th-and-1 from the Denver 38-yard line, hoping to capitalize on Tony Pollard’s powerful kick return to open the game. The Cowboys decided to run zone right to Ezekiel Elliott, which is generally a good choice, but Denver blew up the front end of the play and took away his cutoff.

On downs, there is a turnover.

The Cowboys received the ball back after forcing a punt and proceeded on a 50-yard drive down to the Broncos’ 20-yard line. Prescott threw a terrible throw on 4th-and-2, and Dallas turned the ball over on downs for the second time.

In the first half, the Cowboys punted every other time they possessed the ball. Meanwhile, a resurgent Denver squad scored 16 points in the first half to lead 16-0 at halftime.

McCarthy gambled again on fourth down with the score at 19-0 halfway through the third quarter. Prescott found a wide-open CeeDee Lamb streaking deep behind Denver’s defense on fourth-and-1.

He tossed him out.

Last but not least, with Dallas still scoreless and the fourth quarter clock running, Prescott threw a dreadful interception to rookie safety Caden Sterns on 4th-and-7.

Overall, the Cowboys were abysmal when it mattered most.

According to ESPN, Jerry Jones remarked after the game, “We’ve been battling on fourth-and-1 all year, so it didn’t surprise me.” “It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody.” On fourth down, we’re up against it.”

According to their owner, the Cowboys’ troubles on fourth down in the game should not have shocked anybody. Nobody should have been shocked. Except, evidently, for their head coach.

Denver was motivated by Dallas’ suffering.

The Broncos took tremendous delight in stuffing the Cowboys, while McCarthy wanted to press the matter early for Dallas. On offense, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said it energized his team.

He commented on the team’s website, “You approach the field with a little rage, honestly.” “It’s like, ‘Hey, guy, they’re going for it because they’re saying our offense won’t score or anything,’” he says. In the huddle, we spoke about it and utilized it as inspiration.”

Tim Patrick, a wide receiver, was less polite in his response.

He called the Cowboys “disrespectful.” “That’s a s**tttttttttttttt They are putting us to the test. That’s what happens when you put us to the test.”

The offense’s feeling is understandable. Going for it, particularly so early in the game, shows as much faith in your offense as it does in your defense to stop your opponent, as Bridgewater points out. As a coach, you’re taking a calculated chance that if you don’t make the first down, your defense will be able to limit or prevent damage to the scoreboard.

It’s essentially a wager that the other offense won’t be able to exploit you, and that’s how Denver approached it.

In terms of disrespect, it’s likely that it had less to do with that and more to do with the Cowboys’ confidence. Nonetheless, their exuberance was misplaced.

The Cowboys were overly arrogant, and it cost them.

To be honest, it was probably a matter of McCarthy’s and Dallas’ offense’s arrogance.

For six weeks in a row, the Cowboys were the talk of the NFL. McCarthy and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore had established a groove, with the Cowboys scoring more than 40 points in two of their six victories. Prescott had recently returned from injury, and the team had even won a game against the Minnesota Vikings without him. Cooper Rush threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns, of all people.

When asked after the game whether the Cowboys were “feeling themselves” a little too much heading into the game, Prescott replied with one word: “Maybe.”

Things were looking up in Dallas, and pride can sometimes be a precursor to disaster.

Vic Fangio entered the game with a 16-24 overall record in his third season as the Broncos’ head coach. The Broncos were coming off a 17-10 victory against the Washington Redskins, but they had lost their previous four games.

The Cowboys attempted to be aggressive against what they saw to be a poor team, and the Broncos retaliated.

Denver racked up 407 total yards on offense while dominating possession time by a wide margin (41:12 to 18:48). Denver’s defense held Dallas scoreless until the final seconds of the game. The Broncos limited Prescott to 19-of-39 passing for a 24.1 quarterback rating. Elliott was restricted to 51 yards on ten touches.

They thrashed the Cowboys on their own turf, making Dallas pay for their arrogance.

Don’t tell Fangio that he’ll be a lame-duck coach in the end.

After the game, he added, “Everybody wants to go for it on fourth down, right?” “They list all the numbers, fourth-and-1, fourth-and-2, and so on.” It hurts when you don’t receive them. And we were the ones that were injured.”

ESPN and Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.
