Asia Correspondent Brent O’Halloran says soldiers in Taiwan are now being taught to engage the enemy from “three different positions”.
“Previously a regular soldier will learn to do so from a prone position, now they’re required to do so from a kneeling and standing position,” Mr O’Halloran said.
“That might seem like an incidental change, but it’s part of a broader suite of changes to Taiwan’s military in light of … the threat from China.”
