Herald Sun Business Commentator Terry McCrann the branch members are the ones who put in the “hard yards” and should be the ones who choose the candidate under the rules of the liberal party.
“Unless there is an extraordinary circumstance and choosing a woman over a man from headquarters is not an extraordinary circumstance,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Cory Bernadi.
“The right candidate should be the candidate, and that should be primarily in the hands of the branch members; It’s their choice.”
